Rev Reuben responded to the call of God for full-time ministry in 2002. En route to becoming a Pastor in the Methodist Church, he spent two years in Rhema Bible Training Centre Singapore, before entering into Trinity Theological College for three years. As a seeker of God’s face and a lover of His presence, he is a firm believer that what Jesus taught in Matthew 6:9 – for the Kingdom and will of Heaven to be upon earth – is possible and available, and therefore endeavours to be a channel for that to occur. His only desire for his reputation is that he be known as an “unschooled and ordinary” man who “had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).
Rev Ming knew more than 30 years ago that she would one day be serving God full-time. Over the years, as she journeyed through life with God, her calling got clearer. She enrolled in Rhema Bible Training Centre and then went on to Trinity Theological College (where she was Rev Reuben’s classmate). She has been a pastor in the Methodist Church since 2009. In everything she does, she falls back on the word of God. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Pastor Eddie became a believer at a very young age, but has never fully appreciated the glory of God until God opened his eyes on the sweet truth of His Word in his early thirties. Since then, God has placed a burden in his heart for the ministry of teaching. He takes the charge to “follow the pattern of sound words” very seriously. He enrolled in Trinity Theological College in 2013. “In faith and love in Christ Jesus” and “by the Holy Spirit,” he prays to be a good steward in proclaiming the good news and guarding “the good deposit entrusted” to us (2 Timothy 1:13,14).
Rev Michael Wong is the pioneering pastor for Toa Payoh Methodist Church. He took the leap of faith, trusted God and started God’s work in Toa Payoh. Although he has retired as a pastor in 2003, he has not retired from God’s ministry. The key verse for all seasons that he holds throughout his life is found in Romans 5:1-2, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
