1. CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING

– by Toa Payoh Methodist Church

It’s time to get Christmasy and join us for a joyful and hands-on experience that will help you craft a beautiful and evergreen Christmas wreath to adorn your home and greet your guests with festive cheer. You will take home your DIY Christmas wreath; and make this season extra special! (This workshop is for anyone 18 years old and above as there will be handling of sharp tools.)

Duration: 90 minutes

2. GROWING MICROGREENS

– by Urban Green Dot

This microgreen workshop will allow you to learn all about this new superfood called microgreens! We will share about how urban farms grow your local produce indoors such as microgreens, how you can grow at home using DIY kits, and you will get and taste some of the greens that you will be growing. Each participant will bring home a DIY kit to grow 2 cycles of microgreens and a salad bowl of fresh greens! (Suitable for adults and children. Children below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.)

3. JEWELLERY MAKING

– by Toa Payoh Methodist Church

Unleash your inner artist at our exclusive jewellery making workshop! Learn the art of crafting stunning pieces using crystals and faux pearls. Bring your old jewellery (beads, charms, crystals) and discover how to take them apart and recreate beautiful, unique designs for a one-of-a-kind Christmas gift for yourself or someone else. (This workshop is for anyone 18 years old and above as there will be handling of sharp tools.)

4. SOAP MAKING

– by Eco Rangers

Join us for an interactive session of soap making from eco-friendly food by-products such as coffee grounds, recycled oil and tea leaves. Learn about the full soap-making process, from ingredient selection to fragrances. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and blends creativity with sustainability, allowing you to reduce waste while making beautiful, natural soaps bars.  (Suitable for adults and children. Children below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.)

About Light of Christmas

Light of Christmas is the flagship Christmas event of Toa Payoh Methodist Church (TPMC).

Since its inauguration in 2015, this event has been spreading the joy and hope of Christmas to Toa Payoh residents, especially the poor and needy.

In recent years, it has been warmly received by the community, with an average attendance of 1,500 people. This included 300 less-privileged beneficiaries – such as rough sleepers and residents living in rented flats – from the Toa Payoh Community.
